A Workshop, Paris

Join STANLEY/BARKER from the 5-7th November for a unique, three day book making workshop in the heart of Paris.

This one of a kind workshop is designed for photographers who are ready to move their project towards publication. We will guide the ten successful applicants through the next step of their book making journey.

You will have chance to individually discuss your projects with Rachel and Gregory Barker as well as attending lectures on sequencing, development, design and the importance of promotion and distribution, along with creative team exercises and critiques designed to give participants a deeper understanding of quality book making.

Gregory and Rachel Barker are experts in the creation and distribution of photo books, having published more than 85 unique photo books in the past nine years, including some of the decades most influential titles.

Each of the three days will have special appearances from artists published by STANlEY/BARKER including Thomas Boivin, Mimi Plumb, Robbie Lawrence, Mark Steinmetz, Sunil Gupta and more.

The STANLEY/BARKER Paris workshop is strictly limited to 10 places. Participants with bodies of work nearing completion are encouraged to apply by the deadline of 1st July.

Please submit a PDF from one project with a maximum of 15 images along with a brief statement via email to workshop@stanleybarker.co.uk 

If you would like to send your PDF via wetransfer then please include a download link in an email.

Deadline to apply: 1st July 2023

Acceptance Notification: 1st August 2023

Fees: £985 (50% due upon acceptance, 50% due 1st October)

Location: Central Paris

The workshop takes place in the run up to Paris Photo, all successful applicants will be offered a complimentary ticket to the fair.

Accommodation, food and travel are not provided, and participants will be required to book their own transport and accommodation.
